Join B the Change Media, B Lab, and the Haas School of business as we come together with some of the world’s most innovative, forward-thinking and successful business leaders to celebrate at the Best for the World Gathering September 8 at the University of California at Berkeley. This is the first event created to celebrate B Lab’s Best for the World award-winners–companies at the forefront of the movement determined to use business as a force for good in our world.
The 2016 Best for the World honorees represent the vanguard of this revolutionary movement and we are privileged to honor them and to bring their accomplishments to light at this pivotal gathering. The gathering will be a meeting place for some of the beneficial business world’s leading minds, among them Deval Patrick, Managing Director in Impact Investment at Bain Capital and former governor of Massachusetts; Christopher Gavin, founder of The Honest Company; Rose Marcario, president and CEO of Patagonia; Kim Jordan, co-founder of New Belgium Brewing; and many more.
These change-makers will discuss ways to increase the flow of capital toward social good, exploring the many possibilities we can achieve by harnessing the power of business to benefit human life. Through a series of keynotes and panel discussions-topics include Investment for Change, Leading for Growth and Leading for Legacy-the day’s mentorship conference will provide an opportunity for students and business leaders to interact with Best for the World honorees.
Of course, we will also have a lot of fun. In the evening, a sampling of delicious and responsibly produced wines and spirits will showcase how doing good can lead to very good things. It will be followed by an awards ceremony honoring and highlighting the nominees and the Party with a Purpose, with featured performer W. Kamau Bell, a sociopolitical comedian and host of CNN’s new travel show, The United Shades of America.
