What would basic income mean for social entrepreneurship?

Jim Pugh, Universal Income Project

Universal basic income has begun to receive a lot of attention in recent years as a possible solution to rising inequality and disruption of the labor market by automation. Besides eliminating poverty and providing economic security to all Americans, basic income has the potential to significantly alter the entrepreneurship landscape. This workshop will encourage participants to explore how social entrepreneurship might change if basic income were enacted by discussing the following questions: “What would it look like to start and grow a social impact venture?”, “How could these startups tackle new and different challenges?”, “How might the impact funding space change?”
